Safi – Gelijk

Couple of days ago I stumbled on this video while spending time on Instagram – The video is animated by Finnish animator and visualt artist Laura Matikainen and I saw her promotiong her latest creation, a music video for Belgium artist Safi.

Laura stated that she wanted the animation look handmade & torn, so she spent some time tearing papers on the floor. I love how the animation is so contrast and raw and the whole visual output give the video a very strong punk-ish and political feeling which goes very well with the title Gelijk, which translates Equal.

I’m always fascinated to see collage and generally paper used in different medias and formats. Thumbs up!
