I love when the artist creates works that have a strong direction of the atmosphere and theme throughout the line. Now introduced artist, Laíza Ferreira, got me mesmerized by her interestingly organic and humane collages. She is currently living and working in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil.
Her artistic research takes a deep dive into the decolonial axis starting from ancestral memory and then builds the revisualized worlds with wanted pieces and fragments. She stated that her collages intertwine the political imagination against the hegemonic dialogue with beautiful collagic displacements and emotional geographical connections.
As usual, do yourself a favor and check out her IG, @laihza, for more!
