Toombes.com is an independent art journal showcasing contemporary visual culture with a strong focus on collage and mixed media art.

The art journal is curated and edited by Niko Vartiainen, Finnish artist and creative, who started Toombes in 2016. Since then he has published almost 200 articles, including over 30 artist interviews.
Niko is living and working in Turku, Finland.

The name/title of the blog TOOMBES comes from the editors deep love towards the late actor Vincent Price. When he was thinking the names for the blog, he had couple of good ones but nothing that would stand out – Then he saw a movie called The Madhouse (1974), where Mr. Price is playing an actor Paul Toombes whose most famous character Dr.Death starts to kill people.
